Lately, I went on a work trip with my team, and on the way we passed through Chongqing.
We’re a travel agency in China, so these trips are a bit special for us. They’re not just “work”. They’re also a chance to step out of the office and be together in a different way, walking, chatting, sharing meals, connecting without screens and schedules between us.

At the same time, we’re there to explore. To see places we might recommend to our clients during the year. To learn the atmosphere, the little details, the routes, the good corners. So yes… the rhythm can be a little rushed.

And honestly, a rushed rhythm isn’t the easiest place for mindful photography. To be present, you have to balance things: being with your people, staying on time, moving forward, while also trying to feel the environment properly.
But my mind… my mind keeps getting pulled by what I see.

The colours. The shade. The reflections on water. A neon sign glowing on wet pavement. Steam rising from food. Faces in the street. Tiny moments that only last a second, but feel like an invitation.
Anything around me can become a call for a photograph.

For me, photography is not only about “making a good photo”. It’s a way to connect, with the local culture, with the people who live there, with food, with textures, with the mood of a place. It helps me slow down inside, even if my feet are moving fast.
In Chongqing, the calls came from every direction.

We passed some very famous places, but also small streets, restaurants, art galleries, old neighbourhoods and newer ones too. And every time I thought, ok, now I can just walk, something would catch my eye again.
So I took a lot of shots.

Not all of them worked. The result is not always there, and that’s fine. Mindful photography, for me, is not about perfection. It’s about noticing. It’s about being awake to beauty, even in ordinary moments.
But in the end, I was still happy with some of the photos I made.

They might not be spectacular. They might not impress everyone. But if a picture makes me feel something, if it brings me back to that moment, that colour, that calm feeling inside, then it’s already doing its job.
And that’s good enough for me.

Chongqing, in passing, but my eyes didn’t rush

Colors, Faces, and Grateful Hearts: Finding Beauty in Kathmandu
When Everyone Said “Don’t Go” A few days before my flight to Kathmandu, Nepal was in the news. Violent protests. At least 19 people dead. Damages everywhere. My phone kept buzzing with messages: “Are you still going?” “Isn’t it too dangerous?” “Maybe you should cancel?” I won’t lie – I wondered too. For a moment,…

Hoi An Through My Mindful Lens: Lanterns, Chaos, and Coffee
Ah, Hoi An. If this Vietnamese gem were a color palette, it’d be “Golden Hour” mixed with “Lantern Glow” and a dash of “Why Is Everyone Holding a Coconut Coffee?” (More on that later.) 啊,会安。如果这座越南小城是一盒颜料,那一定是“金色夕阳”混着“灯笼暖光”,再加一勺“为什么人人拿着椰子咖啡?”(这个梗我们稍后细聊)。 Let me set the scene: Imagine a 16th-century trading port where every building wears a sun-bleached yellow coat, silk lanterns…
